  一、教材分析

  本单元的教学核心项目是“描述人的外貌”(Describe People’s looks),涉及到讨论人的身高、体型、发型、面部特征及其着装等语言项目。教材内容围绕着描述人的外貌特点展开,让学生学会谈论人的身高、体型、发型、面部特征及着装特点,以人的外貌特征为主线,兼顾交际功能的学习,以一种循序渐进的生活化的学习程序,引导学生学会用英语介绍自己或他人的外表特征。这些内容与学生的实际生活密切相关,易于引发学生运用简单的英语进行交际和交流,所以在学习活动中,学生能通过交换对不同人物的描述及看法,促进学生之间和师生之间的情感交流,增进情谊。

  二.教学目标

  1.知识目标

  a.学会描述人物外貌的词汇:

  hair,curly,straight,height,tall,medium,thin,heavy,build

  句型:-What does he/she look like?

  -He/She is tall/short/of medium height/build/heavy/thin/ of medium build. He/She has long/short/straight/curly hair.

  b.能够抓住人物的主要特征来用英语描述人物的外貌形象。

  c.能和合作伙伴互相交流,充分交换信息,进行合作学习。

  2.过程和方法目标

  a.教会学生运用he/ she is … he/ she has…来描述人物的外貌。

  b.教会学生运用what does he/ she look like?这个特殊疑问句的用法。

  3.情感态度与价值观:

  学会观察和描述周围的人物,学会友好地描述别人的形象,互相了解,增进友谊。同时让学生明白不可以貌取人的道理。

  三.教学重点及难点

  1.重点:

  1.掌握straight, curly, tall , short, of medium height/build, heavy ,thin等词汇。

  2.学会运用重点句型“What does he/she look like? He/She is/has…

  并运用用这些句型去描述人的外貌。

  2.难点:

  掌握正确运用have动词和be动词描述人物外貌的方法。

  四、学情分析:

  在小学阶段,孩子们已经学习了人的身体各部位名称,例如:head, face ,eye, ear等等,但是他们头脑里储存的只是一些孤立的单词,往往不能用完整的句子来描述人的外表特征。

  从心理上来看,十三四岁是青少年开始关注自己和他人外形的时期,所以在这个时候,老师要引导学生树立正确的审美观。

  五、教法渗透:

  1、教学设计思路:

  《新目标英语》中的具体语言目标是通过各种各样的Tasks来实现的;学生需要运用具体而特定的行动来完成一定的交际任务。因此本节课将始终引导学生通过完成具体的任务活动来学习语言,让学生为了特定的学习目的去实施特定的语言行动,通过完成特定的交际任务来获得和积累相应的学习经验,让学生在用中学,在学中用(Learning by using, learning for using)。

  2、教学方式和手段:

  任务型教学法、多媒体辅助教学、情景交际教学法等。

  3、学习方法指导:

  本节课将在课堂活动中把学生分成学习小组,让他们围绕着课堂任务分工合作,在活动中相互探讨、相互交流、相互合作,从而获得知识、技能和情感体验,发展他们的能力。

  Greetings and

  Sing a song“ Head , shoulder, knees and toe”. Tell the students to touch their bodies according to the words in the song.

  Sing the song and touch their bodies to warm up.

  通过课前游戏振奋学生精神,复习已学过的人体部位的词汇。让学生积极准备投入到紧张的学习中来。

  Step 2

  Leading in.

  I’m your new friend Lena, and I’ll study English with you this class. First, I want to know something about you. What’s your name? Do you like English? Who’s your English teacher? What does he/she look like?

  Ask a few students freely.

  A few Ss answer the questions.

  由询问学生英语老师的外貌自然引入本节课话题。

  Step 3 Presenta- tion:

  Ⅰ:

  Show the picture of three stars to introduce height .

  Use three students to compare and practice.

  Ⅱ:

  Show another three photos of stars to introduce build .

  Use simply drawings to practice.

  Ⅲ:

  Show the photos of four persons to introduce hairstyle .

  Ask the students to talk about their hairstyle.

  Ⅳ. Show some photos of stars. Ask and answer questions to let students practice the target language.Watch the photos carefully. Answer the questions freely according to the the photos. Describe the three students.

  Watch and listen carefully and answer the questions. Talk about the build by using the simply drawings.

  Talk about their hairstyle.

  Talk about the stars’height, build and hairstyles. 以学生感兴趣的明星照片分别引出身高、体型和发型的描述方法,提高了学生的学习兴趣,同时利用学生本身和简笔画对所学新语言点加以巩固运用。

  注意在师生活动中让学生区分在描述外貌时是用动词 be 还是 have/has.

  Pair work

  Ask and answer in pairs about their friends’looks.

  Work in pairs.

  What does he\she looke like?

  He \She is …

  He\She has…

  通过让学生两人一组谈论身边的朋友的外貌,巩固所学语言知识。

  Step 5

  Consolidation

  Let the students

  Finish activity 1a.

  All students finish the exercise. Match the words with the pictures and check the answers in a group.

  通过课本活动1a,让学生巩固所学新知。

  Step 6 listening

  Listen and fill in the blanks in the picture in 1a.(Where are they? What are they doing?)

  Task 2

  Can you find Amy’s friend?

  Students see the picture and listen carefully, and fill in the blanks in the picture in 1a. Find out Amy’s friend.

  通过音频播放听力,巩固所学。指导听力技巧。

  Step 7

  Guessing GameLet the students work in groups to play a guessing game. (One student in each group choose a piece of paper from the teacher). Ask them to write down some sentences to describe the person on the paper. Others guess who he\she is.

  Remember all of the new words and sentences in the target language.

  选做:

  Write a description of a person you like and then draw a picture of him or her.

  Do homework after class.分层次让学生选择完成作业。
