Watt1: Since there are other applicants2 on the line, we cant let you know our decision yet until all of them have had their chance to be interviewed.
Ann: Fair enough, I am willing3 to wait until you have come to a decision.
Watt: We will let you know probably next Tuesday. I hope to give you a positive reply.
Ann: Thank you, I will be glad to hear that.
Notes：
1. 面试要结束了，考官说在所有面试者都接受了面试之后才能给出答复，这是很自然的，也是必经的程序，你要表示谅解。
2. 是的，这也是为了公平起见。Come to a decision，得出结论，有结果，相当于make a decision.
3. 一般考官都会告诉你面试答复的最后期限，这段时间里你就要耐心等待了。不要逼问考官面试的结果，这时只要做到自信，礼貌就很好了。
Dialogue 2
Watt: How long have you been this city
Jenny: About three months.
Watt: Have you worked as a receptionist4
Jenny: No, but I think I am a fast learner.
Watt: Well, your English is very good. I have noticed that. But the problem is my receptionist must have local knowledge as well. People call us up not just to order meals. They often ask questions about travel, entertainment5, etc. so I have to say I cant offer you the job.
Jenny: Thats all right. Thank you for your time. Good-bye.
Watt: Bye.

1. 这段对话中的面试结果是在结束面试的时候给出的。Jenny想去应聘接待员的职位，但是她的一些条件不符合工作的要求。
2. 有哪些条件呢接待员必须对本地的餐饮，旅游，娱乐等等项目非常熟悉，但是Jenny才来了三个月，肯定是不行的，尽管Jenny表示自己是一个fast learner，也就是学东西很快，但是Watt先生还是没有雇佣她。
3. I have to say I cant offer you the job. 也就是我还是不能雇佣你。这时候要表现的很大度，thank you for your time，谢谢您花费时间来面试我。这里也能看出的职业素养。

准备面试准备了那么久，心里还是难免忐忑不安。见到面试官，第一句说什么好呢我们来看看 Susan Li是怎么开始她的开场白的吧。
Susan: Excuse me. May I see Mr. John Watt1, the personnel manager
Watt: Its me. What can I do for you
Susan: I have come at your invitation for an interview. Nice to meet you, Mr. Watt.
Watt: Nice to meet you too. Please sit down.
Susan: Thank you.
Watt: May I have your name
Susan: My name is Susan Li.
Watt: OK, Miss Li, we have received your letter in answer to our advertisement. I would like to talk with you regarding your qualifications for this position.
Susan: I am very happy that I am qualified2 for an interview.
Notes:
1. 对话中Susan来参加面试，人事经理接待了她。人事经理是the personnel manager。Susan开始问：May I see Mr. John Watt, the personnel manager(我想见人事经理。)May I... 是非常客气的问话方式。Susan问的人正是人事经理，他回答到：Its me. What can I do for you (我就是，有什么事情吗)
2. Susan回答I have come at your invitation for an interview. 我是应你们的要求来面试的。at ones invitation，在某人的邀请下。例如：He came to my birthday party at my mothers invitation. 我母亲邀请他来参加我的生日舞会。这句话还可以这样说：Im here for an interview as requested.
3. 两个人互相打过了招呼。May I have your name 直译就是我可以知道你的名字吗是很客气的问法。We have received your letter in answer to our advertisement. I would like to talk with you regarding your qualifications for this position. (我们已经收到您回复招聘广告的信函了。我想和你谈谈你的情况和这个职位。)这里面应该包括了简历。更加简单的说法是：We have received your letter and resume, and we thought we would like to ask you to come here for an interview.
4. be qualified for something或者是be qualified to do something，有资格做某事。例如：Youre not qualified to be a doctor. 你没有做医生的资格。表示很荣幸参加面试还可以这样说：It is a great pleasure for me to have this opportunity for interview.
