I believe everyone knows the importance of confidentce， however， not everyone has cnfidence. Actually speaking， I am a shy boy with little confidence. When I told my kmother about the news of ral Engish competition， she encouraged me to take part in it. She said the “Nothing is impossible”. She wants me to practice myself though this competition and improve my confidence.
As a wise man once said， “ If you have no confidence， you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence， you have won even before you have started.” Confidence is like a light in the dark. With confidence， one can be brave and overcome difficulties.

oh， my english was poor in the past. so how to improve it was my biggest problem.
first， how to remember the new words? i always copy the on pieces of paper， stick them on the wall， and read them aloud when i see them. it’s the best way to remember new words. what’s more， i should do more reading. try to guess the meanings of new words， and get the main idea of the article. and when i answer teacher’s question， i’ll take a deep breath and smile， i will say: “i can！” last， after class， i always review the lessons.
and practice makes perfect. i do believe！ i can learn english well.
When I was in primary school， my parents had paid special attention to the English education， they thought it was the necessary language to learn. So I had access to the English movie and the relatived books. I fell in love with learning English， because speaking English made me stand out. Later I found an English club in my school， it was a place for the English learner to improve their speaking skill and gain their interest. I was so excited and we talked in English all the time， I learned a lot. When other students complain about the difficulty to learn the language， I have passion to learn it.

Statistics show that no more than 40% of people who take the college entrance exams pass. Because a college education is regarded as the key to a successful career， this puts enormous pressure on the applicants. It also causes social problems， as those who fail consider that they have disgraced their families.
It seems to me that the exams are unfair， for three reasons: First， applicants with different abilities are faced with the same type of exam paper， second， the results of a mere three days of examination affect the applicant’s whole future； and third， applicants who can afford private tutors usually score higher marks than those who are poorer， but perhaps more intelligent.
To improve the system of college entrance exams， I suggest the following steps: the exam papers should be graded to take into account the different levels of ability and the different backgrounds of the applicants； in addition to the actual exam， a complete assessment of the applicant’s educational achievements should be made； and tutoring in examination techniques should be made available to all.
